Online talk: The Holocaust and Kinder Transport by Frank Vigon

The 27th January is Holocaust Memorial Day and LALG have invited Frank Vigon, an education consultant, to give a talk on the Holocaust and the
Kindertransport. Some children from the Kindertransport were housed in
Letchworth and the surrounding villages.

In this talk Frank will examine the inexplicable fear of the inhumanity of
genocide and the persecution of those who are conceived to be different, as well as how people step forward to do what is right and protect the innocent.

Online talk - The Malting industry in Hertfordshire

During this online talk Helen will discuss the making of malt in Hertfordshire in terms of:

its importance to economic activity,

the impact on our waterways and railways and some of the towns who depended on this industry

Helen is a retired teacher and a member of East Herts Archaeological society for over 50 years.  On retirement she assisted my husband the late Adrian Gibson in listing historic buildings in Essex and Herts.
