Polish culture and traditions have their origins in the culture of the West Slavs. Over time they have been influenced by interweaving ties with the Germanic, Hungarian, Latinate, Byzantine and Ottoman worlds. This group could investigate dance, festivals, traditions, etiquette, food and family; or practise conversational Polish, and perhaps even hold a Polish evening. A good attendance will ensure that this group will get going.

pudding club Tuesday 10 September, 7pm

This meeting, at the Group Contact’s Hitchin home, is to discuss our programme for the coming months. We are a small friendly group with space for a couple more. We take it in turns to provide a pudding (bought or home-made) and pay £1 each to the person who has provided the pudding.

Wednesday 11 September, 10.30am - 12 noon, Broadway Hotel

At our first meeting we looked at Shakespeare’s life and planned future meetings. To find out more, contact: William Armitage   01462 643537; armitagewilliam@hotmail.co.uk
