Our ride this morning was to Gt Offley and we lunched at The Red Lion. Four of us met in Wetherspoons, they had run out of cups which is not unusual in itself but there were no paper cups either, so they were offering tea/coffee in a pint tankard, most unusual. Anyway, cheers. The four riders were Angie, Roy, Andy and me. We took the usual route to this destination, Norton, Gt Wymondley, Preston via Hitchwood and Ley Green. At lunch, we were joined by Adrian, Mick, Geoff P, Peter and Bedford Paul. An enjoyable hour or so was had with a nice pub lunch at very reasonable prices. After lunch, the joiners made their own way and the original four of us set off back using the same route. We had quite a headwind and rain as far as Preston, not very nice at all. Andy left us at Preston to head home and the rest of us came back to Letchworth via St Albans Way. The weather was overcast with rain on the start of our return along with a headwind as I have said. My mileage was 24 at an average of 11.
