Our June meeting was a ‘blind tasting’ led superbly by Auriole and Martin...
Most managed to tell reds from whites but the gewürztraminer confounded most of us! Ronnie was the champion! Perhaps the most interesting and unusual wine was a Bual Madeira – everyone thinks of Madeira as sweet but this was soft, dry and refreshing. It was a fun evening and a definitely one of our best.

At the time of writing we plan to contribute to the Letchworth Festival with a selection of English sparkling wines for tasting, hopefully to celebrate the sun and summer. Also we plan our summer bbq in July but there will be an opportunity to get together at Julie and Jerry’s on Friday 20 August. We start again with our first meeting of our third year on the third Tuesday in September.
