We welcomed two new riders this morning, Alex and John. Setting off from LGC, I think there were 14 in total, riding in three groups. I took Rob, Pete and Colin on a partial off-road route via the Hambridge Way, with an extra loop round Shillington, arriving at the café just after Geoff's group, and just before Alan's. It being warm and sunny, we arranged some seating and umbrellas for everyone to sit out on the terrace, overlooking the former golf course, and it was very pleasant too. Service was speedy (for the most part..), the food very good, and reasonably priced too. After lunch, with rain threatening, we all pretty much took the shortest routes home, which was only a couple of miles for me! But for most the trip back to LGC and Hitchin wasn't far, and everybody should've made it in the dry. Adrian
