Codicote and SpokeCycles for lunch

Well, the records continue 19 today! Only 17 in the pic though as Andy S and Paul W had already left... honest. As Mick and Pete C and Paul W joined us at Spoke Cycles, by a process of elimination we must've had 16 at the start. We rode in two groups of 8, Alan's group taking a much longer route via Walkern and Watton, though only 6 completed the full distance, due to a minor misunderstanding, of which the less said the better! Suffice to say that everyone (eventually) made it safely to Codicote. Geoff P's group (including myself) came by the more usual route via Shilley Green, Easthall and Nup End, arriving very close to midday. With the staggered arrival, things were made a little easier for the staff; I think they might have struggled a bit had we all arrived together... maybe I do them a disservice! Anyway, though not particularly sunny at first, it was pleasantly warm and we all sat outside overlooking the goat enclosure and the countryside views beyond. After some time (a good bit longer than usual) we made ready to set off. We departed in several smaller groups in various directions, with myself taking a group out to ward Whitwell, comprising (initially) Mick and Pete C, Geoff H, Stuart H, Jerry, Gareth and Andy E. Andy and Jerry turned off in Whitwell. Mick and Pete came as far as the turn to Cockernhoe, and then Stuart turning off to Offley before the bridge, leaving just 3 for the rest of the ride to Shillington, where I left Geoff and Gareth to make their way back to LGC via Pirton and Holwell.
