A Content Editor (CE) is an LALG member who volunteers to maintain the content of an LALG group’s page. This is often the Group Contact for that group, but can be another LALG member.
The Role:
- To liaise as necessary with the Group Contact on a regular basis
- To ensure that the general description of the interests and activities of the group is updated as appropriate, following the LALG Website Editors Guide at lalg.org.uk/EditorsGuide.
- To add Articles and Events (meetings, trips etc) on the group’s webpage as soon as possible, to ensure that the webpage is always up to date; usually more up to date than the newsletter.
- To ensure that all details and photographs comply with the relevant LALG policies, including Data Protection and Copyright Policy.
- To archive articles when they become irrelevant or out of date.
There are lots of online help scripts to assist in editing the group webpage, creating new events and articles in the editing section of the guidance section of our website.
Help is always at hand from the Web Editors who can be contacted at webeds@lalg.org.uk or the Tech team at webtech@lalg.org.uk
