Vanstones Garden Centre - Codicote

With the continued run of good weather, numbers were up today, with fifteen at lunch. Initially, eleven started from the fountain (can I remember them all? Geoff P and Geoff H, Gareth, Jackie, Steve L, Mia, Kris, Chris, Rob, Alan and me... phew!), then we picked up John in Great Wymondley and Andy S at Little Almshoe. Later, Mick and Pete met us at Vanstones. Most of us took the route via Preston and Hitch Wood before taking the turn to Shilley Green, with Geoff P, Rob and John avoiding the hill; consequently, we didn't see them again before the café. We also added a small loop via Nup End and Drivers End just to extend the ride a little. The café was pretty busy but fortunately there was plenty of room outside, and we settled down to await our meals, which (mostly!) arrived in good time... except mine! After a little prompting, it duly arrived, and as we'd arrived so early, it wasn't a problem. After lunch, I opted to ride with Mick and Pete, who were heading more in my direction than everybody else, most of whom I believe returned to LGC largely by the same route, but without the extras!
