It was already hot by the time I arrived at the fountain, and I wasn't in the least surprised to find those already there (Geoff P, Andy E and Lakhdip (new rider) in the shade of the trees, rather than in our usual spot!
We were soon joined by Ian, Alan, Geoff H., and Angie, and the eight of us set off in two groups: Geoff H., Alan, and I took a longer route, with the others, led by Geoff P., taking the direct route. Consequently, they were at Jordan's about 30 minutes before us, but no matter. With the addition of Mick and Pete, who both arrived solo, a pleasant time was spent on the terrace overlooking the mill pond.
After lunch, all but Mick, Pete, and I opted for the shorter route back to LGC, it having got properly hot by now! I rode with the other two as far as Barton, with Mick going on to Harlington for the train and Pete making for home near Luton. It was an enjoyable ride around despite the heat.
