A very unpromising day for a bike ride, being cold, misty, dank and dreary, but nevertheless, eight of us had collected at the fountain by 10:30. We set off in two groups, with Stuart and Angie going by the direct route, with the rest of us taking an extended trip via Haynes and Clophill, 'us' being myself, John D, Andy E and S, Mia and Kris. We arrived at the stroke of midday to join the others, who had already been there half an hour! Geoff P joined us a few minutes later, having driven out from Luton. This was our first visit here, and first impressions were very good; the bar/café area is spacious and comfortable; however, service was quite slow, though apparently this isn't usually the case, and personally, I found the menu rather limited. But hey, you can't have everything... We spent a convivial hour here before preparing for the return. John D and Andy S had already departed for home, needing to get back early, and Angie opted to make her own way, as is her wont, leaving five of us to take the shorter route back. It was far enough for the day, given the grotty weather! Adrian.
