Geoff Perry led today's ride, we had a new rider Colin who joined Geoff, John D, Martin and Kris, with Nige joining somewhere en route, or so I suspect, possibly at Arlesey? Anyway, conditions being very favourable for the time of year, they made good time to Jordan's, (though Colin did not come to lunch) as when I arrived directly from home at about 11:45 they were already getting settled at a table outside on the terrace. Yes, outside, as it really was very warm by this time, with some pleasant sunshine warming our backs. As a consequence, we spent the best part of 90 minutes relaxing and chatting over our drinks and snacks, before setting off for the return. Initially, the six of us rode together, at least as far as Clifton, where Geoff and Martin continued on the direct route back, and the remainder headed towards Meppershall, which is as far as I was going, then Shillington, Pirton and Hitchin via the Hambridge Way, or so I believe...
Geoff's return trip was 22 miles, covered at @12 mph
