The Malt Whisky Appreciation Group held a Burns Night event. In addition to the usual sampling of whiskies we enjoyed haggis, neeps and tatties followed by the Scottish 'delicacy' of tablet. The tablet was a first for a number of the group but seemed to disappear pretty quickly!!
The Scottish whiskies sampled were the Glasgow 1770 'Original' and a cask strength special from The Whisky Exchange's 'Black Friday' range which is a 15 year old Glenkinchie. We also enjoyed the first Romanian single malt whisky, the Carpathian, and in honour of Shane MacGowan, who died in November 2023, we had a bottle of The Pogues Irish whiskey. A great evening was had by all and we look forward to our next meeting in March.
