Letters and Diaries from the Front in WW1

Nigel Lutt from Wardown Park Museum, Luton  will give a talk on "Tommy Atkins'  Letters and Diaries from the Front in WW1"   
As I expect many of you know, Tommy Atkins was the name given to the regular soldier dating from Wellington's day.  Nigel will use letters etc drawn from various sources, some of them from the Herts/Beds Yeomanry.  They include correspondence from women who were not in the front line but some were pretty close (nurses, ambulance drivers etc) These were the people whose voices are not always heard. Most books and diaries were written by upper or middle class men or women.
