Cost £9.00, maximum 25 places.   Booking opens by email to the Group contacts from 9.30am on Monday 6 October.

I have organised a group visit to the Museum.  We will have a 30-40 min introductory talk by a curator before we go around self-guided, for which an audio guide is available.  As the Museum is based in a set of almshouses some of the rooms are quite small.

I will be at Letchworth station from 9.30am and we will take the 9.50 Thameslink train (Baldock 9.47, Hitchin 9.55, Stevenage 10.01) changing at Finsbury Park for a Moorgate train.  At Highbury and Islington change to the London overground direct to Hoxton.

Rooms through Time galleries. The displays are based on real London homes and show how interior decoration and living spaces have kept up with changing fashions and demands. Move from a 1630s hall to a 1990s loft conversion.   The galleries will be decked out with Christmas decorations from the period.

Other highlights include the Home Galleries withexhibitions exploring the meaning of home. Here, you’ll find treasured ornaments, furniture and photos of unusual places to call home.

Head outside to explore the Gardens Through Time. These seasonal displays show how our gardens have evolved as much as the insides of our homes. Discover the Tudor Knot Garden, wander the Herb Garden and enjoy the classic Cottage Garden.

There is no café in the Museum but there are toilets and plenty of cafes in the vicinity for refreshments.

After the visit we will retrace our steps home at a mutually agreed time.  Or you can choose to stay in London and return independently.
