Angels Costumes May

Following the success of the visit in February we will be returning to Angels Costumes

Following our successful visit in February I am running a second trip.  

I will be at Letchworth station from 9.30am to catch the 9.50 train to St Pancras (Baldock 9.47, Hitchin 9.55).  At St Pancras we will remain on Thameslink but cross the bridge to catch the northbound stopping train to St Albans alighting at Hendon.  After exiting Hendon station via a flight of stairs, turn right out of the station along the A504, then right again down Wilberforce Road. Walk to the end of the road and Angels Costumes is opposite, it takes about 5 mins.

There will not be time for a refreshment stop before the tour starts but there are toilets at the venue.  After the tour, at an agreed time I will provide an escort back to Letchworth but otherwise people can make their own way back, take refreshments at various cafes on the nearby high road or perhaps break their journey to take advantage of the many cafes and restaurants in the St Pancras/Kings Cross area. 

We were advised at the Booking Office to buy one day off peak travel cards which gives the best flexibility.

On the tour, you’ll be guided around all of Angels Costumes departments including Tailoring, Ladies Making, Alterations, Uniform, Badge Room and Warehouse. You’ll hear first-hand accounts of working on the biggest productions such as Shakespeare in Love, The Lady in the Van, Downton Abbey, Wicked and Game of Thrones. And see clothes made or recreated for Benedict Cumberbatch, Judi Dench, Fred Astaire, Johnny Depp, Cate Blanchett and many more.
