The weather is looking a bit easier for the Weekend Strollers walk on Saturday 15 August. We will meet at 10.30am at Lannock Farm on Hitchin Road, Weston SG4 7EE, a rural hub for food, drink, wellness and crafts. We will walk no more than 3 miles followed by coffee at the farm. Date for your diary: On Thursday 17 September, 10.30am, the DH Lawrence Study Group will meet at Mrs Howard Memorial Hall to discuss this celebrated and controversial author’s essays on ‘the novel’, which he believed to be ‘the highest form of human expression’. Taiko Drumming is fortnightly on a Tuesday evening - next on 18 August - at St Thomas Church, Wilbury Hall, Bedford Road. Have fun taking part in a small, tutor-led group. Drums provided. On Thursday 3 September, 11am at the Broadway Cinema, The Arts Society North Hertfordshire presents: Beautiful Brutalism – the amazing architecture of the 1960s by Sarah Pearson. Brutalist structures are often described as ugly, crude and drab, yet there are examples which merit a second examination.
