The Textile Art group are a friendly creative bunch that meet up every month to take part in a textile workshop. During the past few years, techniques we have covered include natural dyeing, marbling on fabric, hand embroidery, Sashiko stitch, Bojagi patchwork, rag weaving, braid making and fabric printing.
We always welcome new members to join our small friendly group. Experience of textile crafts is not necessary, and everyone is invited to come along and try a meeting. Our Workshops usually take place on the 3rd or 4th Friday of the month. There will also be occasional visits and evening meetings advertised.
Please contact textileart@lalg.org.uk to book your place.
Venue: Please contact Amy to confirm the venue and get full address details.

This is a lovely relaxing craft where you can complete a small piece of artwork or stitched mat during the morning.
We will be working with simple stitches, that are repeated to make the distinctive Bargello wave patterns.
All materials are provided including a suitable canvas base to work on and good quality embroidery cottons, in a range of colours vivid or subtle.

These are examples of Textiles made by the group in our recent workshops.
