Claire recently was invited to provide a demonstration of Taiko drumming for the children of Hillshot school, at their assembly. The children really enjoyed trying out the drums and apparently were talking about it for the rest of the day.
Taiko Drumming
We meet at the London Road Studios Unit 13 in Baldock SG7 6NG on alternate Tuesday evenings. See Group Events for dates and times.
Sessions are fun. Taiko is a Japanese performance art. It's a mix of drumming, movement and rythmns. We are learning the principles of Taiko, notation and practising traditional pieces, in a tutor-led group.
We communicate via a WhatsApp group.
Drums are provided, so places are limited to six. A reasonable level of fitness is necessary. £10 per 2-hour session to cover room hire, tuition and equipment.
