We had a very successful first meeting on the 13th June 2024 with 14 people in attendance. We learnt and sang 5 songs together: South Australia, Roll the Old Chariot Along, Bulley in the Alley, Marching Inland and Wellerman.
Since we started in June 2024, the group has grown significantly and we have learnt many new songs and performed numerous gigs for the local community.
The group has been meeting regularly for over two years. Our Songbook has grown to nearly 50 Sea Shanties. We regularly have over 25 people attend.
Singing Sea Shanties
We meet 7pm to 8.30pm on the 2nd Thursday of each month in the Small Hall (sometimes known as the upper hall) at St Pauls Church, 179 Pixmore Way, Letchworth, SG6 1QT. We can park in the church car park. Song sheets are available. A charge of £3 will be made to cover venue hire. We are a very friendly group with over 25 active members. New members are always welcome.
