Photography Out and About 2

Photography Out and About 2

Our photography group meets once a month (usually at a weekend) to take photos at a variety of locations – photo shoots are followed by a social meeting a couple of weeks later to share the results.

Dates may be subject to alteration (especially if the weather is bad!) so please check with Graham.

We are open to photographers of any skill level, and new members are welcome!

We picked a rather wet day to visit Benington Lordship but still managed to dodge the showers and get some good photos!

We have picked out our favourite pictures from our photoshoots for each of us, to make a Best of 2024 collection

We visited Bushy Park on a freezing cold Sunday - but on the plus side it gave us the opportunity of watching and photographing deer against against a striking frosty white background!

Our December photoshoot was suitably festive, taking pictures of Christmas lights and, especially, the Christmas tractor parade through Baldock, Letchworth and Hitchin

We discussed going to Fairlands Valley for their fireworks display but in the end only Matt managed to get there. Here are a selection of his pictures.

Our photoshoot for November took us all the way to Norton Common!

Our photo shoot for October was at Stotfold Steam Fair - some of us who couldn't get there this time had photos from previous fairs instead.

Not everybody was able to get along to Wimpole Hall, so we extended this month's theme to cover any recent 'out and about' shots

Our August photo shoot was at Stevenage Old Town Live - as well as having lots of great photo opportunities, we also got to hear some great music!

For our photo shoot for July we had a lovely sunny afternoon in Hitchin Lavender Fields

Our June photoshoot took place in Hertford - where we had to dodge between the rain showers to get our pictures!

The group are holding an exhibition of their work at Broadway Gallery in Letchworth from 18 July – 31 August, so come along and see an exciting display of our photos!

At this time of year Hitch Wood is a carpet of Bluebells and a great opportunity for a photoshoot!

Rather than meet for a photoshoot this month, we focussed on still life pictures using artificial light, taken at home

For our March photoshoot we visited Thriplow where the whole village celebrates their daffodil weekend Lots of activities and events to look at - and of course, lots of daffodils!

For our February photoshoot we went to Shuttleworth - some of us revisited a few days later so that we had a chance to take a look at both the aviation collection and the gardens

We visited Stockwood Park Discovery Centre in Luton for our January photoshoot - a mix of interesting gardens and a transport museum, which gave us plenty of good subjects for photography!

We each went out on our own to photograph the delights of our local Christmas lights and decorations!

This month, instead of a group photoshoot, we went out on out own to take pictures on an Autumn theme

Our photo shoot on a sunny day in September was close to home in Radwell Meadows

Our theme for August was gardens - while some of us went to Cambridge Botanic Gardens, we also had shots taken at other locations, including The Wave Garden in Bristol!

For our July photoshoot we had an enjoyable morning wandering round RSPB Sandy - lots to photograph though we didn't see many birds!

The group had a gloriously sunny day in Ashwell, taking photos around the village

Our photoshoot for May was in Standalone Farm

Our photoshoot for April focussed on taking black and white photos in Hitchin. The dodgy weather we have been having meant that we weren't all able to go on the same day!

For our March photoshoot we visited Stotfold Nature Reserve

For our photoshoot this month we went to Benington Lordship, where the gardens are carpeted with snowdrops

Rather than doing this month's photoshoot as a group, the variable weather that January had to offer meant that we all went individually to take photos around Baldock on the theme of 'looking up'.

Our first monthly photo shoot was to Norton Common on a not very sunny December morning!
