Here are three suggestions Sheila has received from Linda Neale:

“We have discovered the village hall/antique shop in Hexton which serves teas etc, but only on certain days. You actually sit in the body of the shop, surrounded by all sorts of interesting bric-a-brac and oddments! They offer a good afternoon tea too, but you have to book ahead. However, we haven’t been there for ages, so I’m not sure if they are still there.”

Editor: looking online we found Hexton’s Lavender Tea Room at lavendertearoomhexton.co.uk

Linda continues: “Another good place is the Old Watermill garden centre and shops on the A6 by-pass between Streatley and Barton. They have delicious scones! See details at www.oldewatermill.co.uk

“And finally, Offley Place past the Green Man pub in Offley. They also do lunches etc. It’s a lovely location. The website is www.offleyplace.com

Linda adds: “Of course, these were open before Covid, but I’m not sure whether or not they have survived. I really hope so, because all three were well worth a visit!”
