Tuesday, 2 July 2019 Beep Beep! A talk on micro cars
David Wherrell’s talk, entitled ‘BEEP BEEP’, was in aid of the Royston & District Community Transport scheme with which he is associated. Those in attendance at tonight’s talk were treated to a veritable multimedia experience which included a PowerPoint presentation of slides and narrative, video segments and age and subject related tunes. The comprehensive talk covered micro cars, three wheelers and four wheelers, from the earliest days of motoring to the present day. We were regaled with David’s own stories and pictures of being part of a thriving Micro Car Club which caters for owners of any car which is powered by an engine of less than 700cc. The talk was informative and entertaining and was delivered in a lively way which took us back to our teenage years and our own early motoring experiences. The talk was followed by questions from the audience, and a round of applause, which signalled our appreciation.
