LALG is run 100% by volunteers

What does being an LALG member mean to you? Meeting new people; having fun; trying new activities?
Members who volunteer to help run activities or work behind the scenes of LALG get so much more!

Graham: “Editing the newsletter is a chance to use and build on my IT skills. And running the computer group is so rewarding; helping others to get more out of their computers and understand safe working.”

Brian: “Running the Blitz an Open Space group, I have met some wonderful, dedicated and energetic members of LALG. We have a sense of achievement after our litter picks. I have also encouraged some non-members to start their own groups.”

Steve: “I enjoy helping to provide local people with active and rewarding opportunities.”

Jackie: “It keeps me busy when my other half is at work.”
Leon: Volunteering for LALG gives the satisfaction that you have done something worthwhile for others.”

Thank you to all our volunteers. LALG continues to thrive with your help.

Your LALG needs your help
LALG is run entirely by volunteers - and we always need more. If you have any time to offer, there is definitely a way for you to help.
For most things you need no particular skills, just a desire to support LALG.
Volunteers are well supported so you wouldn’t be left on your own, nor asked to do more than you want.
Here are some current volunteering opportunities:

  • Help new groups to start
  • Coordinate or lead walks
  • Join the main committee
  • Help on a publicity stall
  • Join the membership team
  • Help at social events
  • Join the website team
  • Help with trips
  • Help with publicity
  • Coordinate events
  • Small admin tasks

If you feel able to help in any way, please email secretary@lalg.org.uk
Thank you!
