Midweek Walkers

line of walkers

We usually meet during the second or third week of the month, on varying weekdays. Our walks are normally within a 20 mile radius of Letchworth and up to 10 - 12 miles. Typically the walks are circular or figure of eight and normally feature a pub lunch.

All our walks are designed for regular walkers who can maintain a steady pace.

Details of up-coming walks are found in the Group Events panel.

The pub lunch is often pre-booked (see the entry in the 'Group Events' panel or the Newsletter for how to do this)  In the longer summer days we have additional longer walks.

The Group's midweek walk on 6th December was a circular 6 miles from Henlow to Langford

Twelve intrepid members braved the weather for a circular walk around Weston. There was rain in the morning, but a nice lunch was enjoyed at The Cricketers Pub and the afternoon was brighter and warm. Thanks are due to the walk leader Alison Rennison.

A colourful caterpillar of umbrellas and bag covers dripped and slipped through the rape and wheatfields around Hinxworth, passing the home of sculptor John Mills and stopping to admire the Fuschia Festival in Caldecote Church. A post lunch strip-off in steamy sunshine brought us to a welcome Walkfest feast.

Some wonderful frost and snow effects on our walk from Gravely to Weston and back, followed by an excellent lunch in The Wagon & Horses.
