Ken Jordan, an experienced scientist and safety consultant who trained managers to help them understand safety and risk management from a leadership perspective, will set the scene and introduce a BBC film about the Piper Alpha disaster of 1988. The disaster and the public enquiry that followed led to a considerable number of changes in the oil and gas sector and a new focus on safety.
