Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, Hackmans Lane, Purleigh, Chelmsford, Essex.

Stow Maries is the largest surviving World War I aerodrome in Europe. It has the largest intact group of Royal Flying Corps’ (RFC) buildings (the RFC was the forerunner to the RAF). There are award-winning exhibitions including a variety of interactive activities, dioramas and displays.

We have arranged a guided tour with a volunteer guide eager to share some incredible stories from the past. The tour will be followed by free time to explore on your own.

There is a café, or you can take a picnic. We will travel in shared cars. Entry fee: £9 for concessions, £12 for others.
