2 Talks: Christmas and Winter Traditions & Christmas 2025 Books

Christmas and Winter Traditions is an illustrated talk with live music presented by Gill and Barry Goodman. It explores some of the many traditional customs associated with Christmas and the months of winter generally, in story, song and pictures.  Some may be familiar, while others are less well-known, but we hope you will enjoy finding out about them and joining in with some songs. 

Gill and Barry have been involved in the folk scene since 1971 and have experienced or been involved with many of the customs featured in the presentation.

The first speaker will be Steph, the manager of David's Bookshop. She will talk about which books have been popular during the year plus books for Christmas.

We meet in the Kincaid Hall, Letchworth Settlement, Nevells Road SG6 4UB. Doors open 10am for 10.30am. Limited parking is available on site; free parking is available by the outdoor swimming pool and the Bowls Club, both a few minutes’ walk away in Icknield Way.

£4 members, £6 non-members (membership is available on the door). There is no need to buy a ticket in advance, just come along! Tea/coffee is available before the talk, £1 per mug.
