Chiltern Open Air Museum has 37 rescued historic buildings on display that were the workplaces or homes of ordinary people. Every building was once somewhere else and either lived in or used by our Chilterns ancestors. They contain furniture and objects, so you can find out how people lived and worked in the past. By bringing the buildings together at the Museum it has built a timeline that helps to tell the story of the Chilterns – a special landscape of rolling chalk hills, traditional crafts, and time-honoured ways of life. There is a working historic farm with animals, traditional gardens, a ‘Dig for Victory’  allotment, woodlands, café and a picnic area. 

We will travel by shared cars, taking approximately 50 to 60 minutes from Letchworth, to arrive for optional refreshments in the café at 10.30am. Then there will be a 90-minute private guided tour of the site at 11am followed by free time to explore. You can either take a picnic or have lunch in the café. 

The maximum number for this trip is 16 and the booking window is from Sunday 1 June. Price per person for entrance and the guided tour £16.
