General - Carers

It is stated in our Terms of Membership
“Carers are able to come to events free of charge when they are supporting an LALG member”

A carer is defined as someone who provides unpaid care and regular support to a family member or friend who needs help due to illness, frailty, disability or mental health issues.
LALG allows carers to attend events at no additional cost. If a member attends, or plans to attend, an LALG event with their carer:
1.    The Carer doesn’t need to be a member of LALG.
2.    If there is a small charge to cover venue etc. please don’t charge the carer. If required you can apply to LALG for their “fee”.
3.    If the event has a higher cost, e.g. a trip to the theatre / cinema/ National Trust property etc. Please check with the venue as they may offer free or discounted prices for carers.
4.    If there are no discounts available, you can apply for a contribution  from LALG of up to £50 to cover the carer’s fee. Payment is at the discretion of the LALG committee.
