This was the presentation given by Jon at our first ever meeting in January 2026. Caspar David Friedrich was a German Romantic Artist active in Dresden between around 1800-1840. Today he is best known for "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" but he actually produced over 500 works. His art is beautiful and meaningful, but also highly disciplined.

The format is that every member leads a discussion or presentation on a subject of their choice. Previous meetings have covered artists such as Millet and Roberts but we are also happy to look at other artforms such as sculpture for example. We also have a convivial chat and gossip!
