Widely considered one of the funniest plays in the English language, Oscar Wilde’s masterpiece, set in the late Victorian era, contains some of the theatre’s most celebrated characters along with sparkling dialogue rich in witticisms.

Relax with a picnic before enjoying a performance in this covered theatre with its delightful stage setting.

There is a bar and area for buying coffee, tea and snacks.

Cost £29 (£30 non-LALG) – includes coach and good seat in centre block.

Coach leaves Letchworth Station Bus Stop opp. Barclays Bank at 10.45am.

Cheques to be made out to ‘LALG’ and sent to an address that will be provided when you book.

Rodgers & Hammerstein Musical, Kilworth House Theatre, Leicestershire

A welcome return to this awardwinning open-air theatre, built in a beautiful wooded glade. The sail-like canopy provides protection against any adverse weather.

This multi-award-winning musical is a timeless story of passion, loss and redemption. It includes some classic songs such as ‘Mister Snow’, ‘If I loved you’, ‘June is bustin’ out all over’, ‘When the children are asleep’ and the immortal ‘You’ll never walk alone’.

There is a bar, designated picnic area and facilities for buying hot snacks.

£47 (£49 Non-LALG) - includes coach and excellent seat in front centre. Coach leaves Letchworth Station Bus Stop opp. Barclays Bank at 12 noon. To book - phone Malcolm King 01462 677329 from Monday 3 February at 9.30am. Cheque to be made out to ‘LALG’ and sent to an address provided.

This group specialises in organising trips to theatres for plays, music concerts, and other major events including sport. Prices usually include good seats and travel by coach from, and returning to, Letchworth.

24-3-2020 The Tolethorpe Hall Open Air Theatre web site states that all performances for this year have been postponed from 2020 until 2021.
 
25-3-2020 Kilworth House Theatre has also cancelled all open air productions this summer so, regrettably, "Carousel" is off.
