Over the years LALG has been described in many ways, including ‘demonstrating how enthusiastic volunteers can create something magical’. At the centre of all this are our group contacts and event organisers but there are also behind-the-scenes volunteers providing invaluable services to keep things running: newsletter team, website editors, membership team, social committee, website technical team and publicity team to name a few.
We want to expand our team of helpers. if you are looking for ways to share your time and talents with the wider community do think about LALG. We have routine jobs that take just a few minutes to others where some experience and expertise is needed.
We wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.
We have taken over the community space at the Broadway Gallery! From 8 to 17 December there is a free-to-visit exhibition showcasing the development of LALG. In addition, there will be festive music and food from 11.15am on Saturday 17 December.
Do you have a background in graphic design? Or maybe it is a skill that you want to develop.
We can meet online or in person to exchange ideas and tips. We could even help to design publicity material for LALG. If this group appeals to you, please get in touch.

We can choose a subject each month to research and discuss. No great knowledge is needed, just an interest in old items and their history.
We will probably meet monthly at a time and venue to suit those who are interested. If this group appeals to you, please get in touch.

Silver Sunday is a national day for older people held on the first Sunday of October. The day was established to tackle the loneliness and isolation felt by some of the older population. The initiative now brings people of all generations together to celebrate and give thanks to the older generation through lots of fun activities.
