As usual, LALG supported our local Festival in a number of ways:
Letchworth Festival Colour Run
Norton Common was transformed into a riot of colour as Leysbrook Estate Agents delivered the first ever colour run in the town, supported by LALG.
Over 140 runners took to the Common and were colour splattered by marshals stationed around the course; some ran the full 5km and some took a lovely stroll.
They all had a good time and they all had a good shower when they got home!
Letchworth Festival Walks
It is fast becoming a ritual that after travelling from Letchworth, we meet up in Betws-y-Coed in the middle of the day and have an afternoon walk up to the monument on Llyn Elsi Reservoir. A lovely woodland walk finishing with beautiful views at the top before making our way to Coetmor Mill in Bethesda.
Adventures with the LALG Trailwalkers - “We stoop to conquer”
Apologies to Oliver Goldsmith for abusing the title of his classic comedy, but it was a chance too good to miss.
Walking tours of Fairfield Park will take place on 17th and 24th August. See the Occasional Group's Events panel for details.
If you have already put your name down on the waiting list, you can book from Monday August 2 until Wednesday August 4 at David's bookshop. Any spaces left can be booked from Thursday August 5. Due to the wide interest in these tours they will be limited to LALG members only.

Download the NHS Active 10 app to get more from your exercise.
The Active 10 app records every minute of walking you do (anonymously). Just pop your phone in your pocket and away you go!

Wild walker, Peter Moore achieved an amazing personal goal.
He climbed all of the 214 peaks listed in Alfred Wainwright's seven-volume Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells (1955–66).
Peter will be greatly missed by us all.
