Photography Out and About 1

We are a small group of hobby photographers who enjoy a social outing with our digital cameras.

Members take it in turns to organise a monthly photoshoot, usually on a weekday morning. We then review some of our photos on the fourth Monday morning in a local village hall to share ideas and knowledge.

A selection of our pictures is shown below.

Many holiday committments meant that it was difficult to organise an outing for all members so two smaller events were attended. 13th September a small group attended the 1940s themed weekend at wimpole and on 17th October a larger group went to the Swiss Garden at Shuttleworth.

A very intersting day starting our visit at Granary Square, just behind kings Cross Station, and then following the canal round to Camden Lock for lunch and more photo opportunities

A long drive, but it was worth it and we had a lovely day out in glorious sunshine. The railway centre provided a wide range of interesting subjects and textures to photograph.

Only five could make it for this trip to visit the canal at Stoke Bruerne and Houghton House (an old hunting lodge) The weather was very kind and several members had to take advantage of the ice creams on offer from one of the barges

The previously planned trip to the Henry Moore foundation had to be postponed until later in the year because the severe weather a few months ago had caused the season opening to be delayed. A substitute trip to London was put in place and yet again we were blessed with fine weather for our walk around.

This event was scheduled for the same time last year but was cancelled because of bad weather, so it was a great surprise for the follow up to be held on a beatiful sunny day

Despite the rain and water levels the Group had a good trip to Cambidge on 10th February and came back with a very interesting group of images.

On 22nd January the Group met at Derek & ISla's to review a selction of Seasonal pictures the members had taken over the festive period

The group had a wide variety of photo opportunities on this trip to one of the oldest markets in London. Borough Market was relocated to it’s current site in the 13th century and a market has existed there ever since. There is a huge variety of all types of food for sale from around the world and the aromas, colours and interesting characters made for an interesting day.

The Bodgers' Ball is the annual gathering of the Association of Pole-Lathe Turners and Green Woodworkers, encompassing the making of all sorts of wooden and/or rural objects. The group went there on a rather dull day in May.
