Your LALG needs you!

Do you have skills you could offer to support our new website - if so read on!

The restrictions imposed by the pandemic have meant that LALG, along with the rest of society, has had to work in different ways.  We have had to reduce our communications on paper and move more things online.  Some of our great volunteers have done a marvellous job enhancing and improving the website, making sure the information there is up to date and managing our range of online events and activities.  But this work has fallen to just a few people.  It doesn't look as if we will go back to the old ways anytime soon so I'd like to reduce the pressure on the few by increasing the number of people we can call on.

We are looking for:
  • Technical website support and development – We need people with an IT background to operate or develop our website and membership systems.  A range of skill levels are needed, so let us know what you have and we will see how we can fit you in.  Given the right aptitude and attitude we can train you in the specifics required.
  • Website Editors – The role requires limited technical skills but you do need attention to detail - the ability to use Word (or similar) and the internet is sufficient as we will give any training needed.  It is more important that you enjoy working as part of a team as we work closely together.
  • Administration – We need people to help administer our online activities.  You don't need to be a technical expert but do need to be comfortable being a point of contact for participants.  We will give you training and support.
  • Data analyst – We get lots of data from google analytics.  We need someone to help make sense of it and report the key information to the IT team and committee.

Over the past weeks we have tidied our houses, planted our gardens, and developed our hobbies.  Many of us have developed skills and familiarity with technology beyond what we could have imagined.  It maybe you now have time and space to offer your skills and commitment.

If you think you can help please contact me at chair@lalg.org.uk and I'll put you in contact with someone who can provide you with further information.

I do hope you can help.  Thank you.
