FPK-KGX An unusual Long Distance Walk, January 2019

Many of us are well used to going from Finsbury Park to Kings Cross, but how many have done it on foot? Kate Thompson tells us about a recent walk with the long-distance walking group, led by Nigel Carrick.

'We started from Finsbury Park rail station and followed the Capital Ring for a time, going through Queen's Wood and on to Hampstead Heath. It was about 12 miles in all and we had to dodge lots of runners along the way, including an under-15s race on Hampstead Heath. We also passed the Isokon Building in Hampstead, a very interesting Grade 1 Listed building formerly called the Lawn Road Flats. We had lunch in Regent’s Park then followed the Regent’s Canal back to King's Cross. The photo shows some of us just outside King's Cross beside the former gas holders, now converted into very smart flats. We had good weather and we laughed a lot, as we always do when we get together!'
