Science Book Group

We agree what books we would like to read, trying to get a balance between the various science disciplines. We meet alternate months in the Broadway Hotel café area (to the right of the bar as you enter) to discuss what we have read, and talk about general science matters. There’s no charge and all LALG members are welcome.

You don't have to be a scientist to come along, or even to have read the book, just be interested in science.

These are some of the books we have read, or will read in the next month or two:

What is Chemistry? Peter Atkins
What's Next? What science can tell us about our fascinating future Jim Al-Khalili

Why Does E=mc2

Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw
The Brain. The story of you. David Eagleman
Gut: the inside story of our body's most under-rated organ Giulia Enders
Surely You're Joking Mr Feynman. Adventures of a curious character. Richard Feynman
Bad Pharma Ben Goldacre
Sapiens Yuhal Noah Haran
Black Hole Blues and Other Songs from Outer Space Janna Levin
The Gene. An Intimate History Siddhartha Mukherjee
Why We Sleep Matthew Walker
The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate Peter Wohlleben
