Industry Heritage Walk

A guided walk, with commentary, around the sites of some of Letchworth’s principal manufacturers from the splendid early days of the Garden City, from the turn of the century to the 1920s, including famous names like W.H Smith and Dents and Crayola and lesser known names like Kryn & Lahy, Meredews, Foster Instruments, Kinora, Phoenix Cars, Lacre Cars, and several others, between them employing many thousands of workers.

Start point is the Pixmore Café at the junction of Pixmore Avenue and Works Road, at 2.50 pm.

The walk is free but BOOKING (at the Tourist Information Centre in Station Road) IS ESSENTIAL as numbers are limited.
