Clavering and The Cricketers

Clavering via Buntingfrd   29th August 2015

This ride was planned to take us to the reknowned Cricketers at Clavering, reportedly where Jamie Oliver learnt his trade under his father owner of the pub. but also to take us over the 50mi. mark.

Our route set off via Baldock, Weston, Halls Green and out to Westmill.  We seem to be drawn to Westmill with its lovely tea shop in the heart of the village and offering delicious tea and cakes, unfortunately Clavering was not much further ahead with our planned lunch stop.

From Westmill we pass through Buntingford taking the road to Hare Street, then Brent Pelham and to our stop in Clavering where we had light snacks for lunch (you can only eat so much and the food here is very generous).

Refreshed we returned by Anstey, Nuthampsted, Barkway, Reed then over the A10 to Sandon, Wallington, Baldock and Letchworth.
