A report of our 2014 evenings

November

A good old fashioned steamed Spotted Dick and custard was first on the menu, a great comfort food to accompany the colder, darker nights.  Apple Strudel a another great dessert  followed and then finally we had just about enough room to squeeze in a very rich chocolate mousse.  Thanks to Bob & Sue.

September

Our evening kicked off with the usual glass of Prosecco followed by our first pudding, a

rhubarb and almond crumble with freshly plucked rhubarb from the garden.

A light pear cider jelly with a dash of pear liqueur to beef it up came next with homemade biscuits and vanilla ice cream.

Last but not least an elaborate and decadent offering of Tiramisu Torte was served with a chocolate-flavoured red wine, (won in a raffle) which finished off our evening. At 680 calories a slice, the Torte almost defeated us as we struggled to clear our plates!

Summer Nights

A lovely warm summer evening brought us outside to enjoy Sue and Bob’s beautiful garden. We were presented with an abundance of desserts and some luscious chilled sparkling Prosecco – just perfect for summer drinking.

A classic steamed mincemeat pudding was followed by lemon tarte, crème caramel and finally an Eton mess mousse which finished off a lovely evening.

May

Delicate rose wine and reaspberry jelly - a Mary Berry favourite. Hairy Bikers' version of bread and butter pudding, lemon ring and homemade cranberry shortbread at Bob and Sue's

February

Last month we started with a caramelised apple mousse accompanied with homemade tuile

biscuits and a lovely juicy sparkling Rosé wine. A Lemon Surprise came next and there was just room left to squeeze in an Italian Ice Cream Cake which was paired with a fruity dessert

wine. Thank goodness we only meet once a month!

Month one - 2014

A lovely cosy January evening at Sue and Bob's saw us presented with a succulent plum torte,

followed by a toasted hazelnut meringue which was complemented with a sweet dessert wine..
