A report of our 2013 evenings


Hosted by Lynn and Ronnie who served a light and fluffy lemon meringue, chocolate profiteroles, rhubarb and champagne jelly served with homemade amaretti bisuits.  Then coffee with marzipan-stuffed dates.


Peach Bellini Jelly, Plum toffee Cheesecake, a palate cleansing coconut ice cream with lime sauce preceded the Marquise de Chocolate finale.  Thanks to Hilary and Richard for their hospitality.


Another autumnal ‘fruity fest’ was on the menu this month. Pears poached in Espresso and Vanilla, with some added Amaretto (makes a change from the usual Pears in Wine recipe) which got the thumbs up. Nigel cooked up a lovely Apple Crumble Cake using windfall apples, and we finished off with some handmade Florentine biscuits. As usual a couple of sweet wines were enjoyed by our small friendly group.


Our December meeting was hosted by Hilary who was resplendent in red velvet and Richard who donned matching red waistcoat. We quaffed our way through Bellinis, dessert wine and port accompanied by lemon mousse with warm strawberries, a toffee apple cake with warm toffee sauce and Bailey’s ice cream. Last but not least some festive handmade biscuits and coffee.
