December 2022

Thank you to the Carrot Cakes for an excellent soap-themed quiz.  Here is their post-match report:

We are back, bleary eyed but fighting fit and ready with the post-match report. Congratulations to all the teams who spotted our deliberate mistakes.

1. Round 2, question 4 – after trying to contact Mystic Meg (turns out even spirits take Christmas off) we decided that we would accept both Aquarius and Pisces.

2. Round 7, question 1 – turns out William Roache now has an OBE to go with his MBE, unfortunately at the time of writing the quiz he hadn’t received the OBE but as it is Christmas we accepted both.

3. Round 7, question 8 – curry powder does indeed include turmeric, so again happy with both.

4. Round 9, question 9 – of course RADAR is Radio Detection not Direction. We believe gremlins got into the team computer and changed the answer at the last minute. Naughty gremlins.

We hope you are inspired to go and see the piece of wreckage of the USS Arizona at the Imperial War Museum in London. A very moving and sobering experience. Hopefully if you have to ask for help to find the piece you won’t be told to go to Hawaii to see it, like I was.

Talking of Hawaii, Miami is a spinoff of CSI not NCIS (Round 9, question 1). NCIS Hawaii is the latest spinoff of NCIS and can be watched on Disney plus. It’s very good.

Now for the results. Congratulations to All The W’s who won by 1 point from The Dahlia’s’’ and The Fox. They can now call themselves “Champions Of The Soap Opera”.
