Restoring Canals in Buckinghamshire with Terry Cavender

The Buckingham Canal was dammed off during WW2 in 1944 having been disused since the 1930s. The Buckingham Canal Society has reopened ½ mile at Cosgrove connected to the Grand Union as well as restoring a bridge. Terry Cavender will talk about the engineering and other challenges as well as covering the rationale for canal restoration both at Buckingham and nationally. He will explain why it matters in today's environmental, financial, social, and leisure-time climate.
