Trip to Chelsea Physic Garden

Registration is closed for this event

Chelsea Physic Garden
Since 1673 Chelsea Physic Garden has occupied four acres on the edge of the Thames. First established by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries to grow medicinal plants, this extraordinary garden has had wide reaching impact around the world. See www.chelseaphysicgarden.co.uk
The cost is £12 for entrance to the garden and a one hour guided tour. Participants pay for their own travel and refreshments. The cost is non refundable unless I can resell your place.
We will travel on the 10.21 train to Blackfriars and then the District and Circle underground line to Sloane Square. It is then about a 15-minute walk (0.7 mile) to the garden. That will give us time to enjoy the garden on our own or take refreshments in their café before the 1pm tour.
The National Army Museum is nearby, open 10.30 – 17.30. We will not be calling there but if you choose to visit, it is free to enter but you need to book a ticket in advance at www.nam.ac.uk/plan-visit
After the tour we will return as a group to Letchworth or you can travel independently.
