On 26 September 11 intrepid members made their way to Dorset to visit Poundbury, the model estate facilitated by the then Prince Charles and built on Duchy of Cornwall land near Dorchester.
Architecture and design is often close to the hearts of Letchworth residents, being the world's first Garden City. This group is also interested in sculpture and various crafts and provides an opportunity for talks, discussions and visits.
April meeting: ‘The Housing Crisis’
A panel of experts will discuss, with audience participation, the failure to build sufficient houses, the shortage of land, poor design and the increasing number of one-person households. Details in the next newsletter.
Offers of help to get the group going would be most welcome.
We do need volunteer(s) to help run this group. Please get in touch if you can help: William Armitage 01462 643537
