The grade II listed St. Martin’s, Preston, is a small Edwardian Arts & Crafts church with a mausoleum in the graveyard. We will have a talk about the building, its history and the community that built it, and an opportunity to look around.
Meet at the church a few minutes before 11am so we can start promptly. It is in Church Lane, SG4 7TP - click here for a map. There are only a few parking spaces outside so please leave them for those who have trouble walking – there is space elsewhere in the village, particularly around the village green.
Optional lunch afterwards at the Red Lion, England’s first community-owned pub. It is by the village green.
Numbers are limited so book your place at David’s Bookshop, Eastcheap. Members £3, non-members £5. *** Cheque (payable to LALG) or cash only, no cards. *** All money will go to the church.
