Ella Fitzgerald was one of the most celebrated singers of the twentieth century. From very ordinary beginnings, she rose to become one of the most famous performers of her time. Her style is unmistakeable, her diction and vocal control were unmatched, and her personality won her millions of fans worldwide.
Her voice is one our presenters’ earliest memories as his parents were among those fans and she has always been a very important part of his musical life.
We will spend some time learning about her life and, of course, listening to some of her recorded legacy.
